Refund declined

Hello. My child has made in-app purchases a few times before, always checking with me first. However, this time, he made a purchase without my permission, which he later regretted after our discussion. I attempted to request a refund of $300.

Unfortunately, due to my demanding work schedule, I struggle to keep up with all my emails. When I received the latest bill on April 12, 2024, I promptly reported the unauthorized purchases to Apple on April 13, 2024, which included transactions from March 28, 2024, to April 12, 2024, totaling less than two weeks.

As a refugee from Ukraine, I am experiencing financial hardship. Despite my refund request, it was declined, leaving me unsure of my next steps. Communicating effectively with Apple support has proven difficult due to the lack of conventional contact methods. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter.

You have many options to prevent that from happening:

  • Use the Ask to Buy feature to only allow purchases that you have approved.

Approve what kids buy with Ask to Buy - Apple Support

  • Use Parental Controls to prevent purchases

Use Screen Time to prevent purchasing - Apple Support

If the child is using your Apple ID, then that should be stopped immediately and he should not have your Password/Passcode. Giving him all the information to make a purchase is giving him authorization. Use the tools Apple provides and you will not have to worry about it again.

I appreciate your swift response. I realize this forum relies on users, and Apple isn't directly involved here. Still, I'm hopeful someone might offer some useful suggestions. I've already attempted to request a refund through the provided link, but unfortunately, Apple declined my request. I'm concerned that if I wait any longer (it's only been two weeks), they may not assist me at all.
