All of my non Apple downloaded music erased after iOS 17.4 update

I lost all of my music that I’ve downloaded over the years (most of which was downloaded through other means) after my phone updated to iOS 17.4, my iCloud backup was not on and I don’t even have a Sync Library tab within my Settings> Music, any help on possibly being able to recover these 500 plus songs will be greatly appreciated

Retrieving missing music from iCloud backup on iPhone 14 and iPad Since Apple stopped backing up music to iCloud my library has gone from 4000 ish tunes from years and years to around 500. I dont have a computer just my iPhone 14 and an iPad. Is there any way to retrieve it all. Im gutted it just seems to have disappeared. Thanks for reading and hope someone can help. Disappearing music from iCloud backup on iPhone 16 I just switched to an iphone 16 from a 12. My iCloud had been backed up prior to the switch. My music disappeared. Where did it go and how do I get it back? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Sync them from the computer that you originally uploaded them from. There is only one way to get music on your iPhone legitimately, and that is using iTunes on your computer. There are no other legitimate “other means”, except to upload them to a non-Apple music app such as Amazon Music. And those would be in a backup on your computer or iCloud.

You also can’t sync music from an iPhone to any other device, which is why there is no sync tab.

You might want to consider enabling automatic nightly backups, to avoid future losses from any cause.
