"Show Help menu" (Cmd-Shift-/) no longer working on Sonoma 14.4.1
I have a new installation of MacOS Sonoma 14.4.1. As in every prior MacOS I can remember, it has "Show Help menu" mapped to Cmd-Shift-/ (Cmd-?) in "System Preferences" -> "Keyboard" -> "Keyboard Shortcuts..." -> "App Shortcuts" -> "All Applications".
This shortcut is genius and one of the best features of MacOS because it USED to activate the menu search bar. One could just type the name of the menu item one wants and hit Return to select it. It not only kept me from having to use the mouse for menus, it made it so I didn't have to remember arbitrary keyboard shortcuts either.
But now, it just activates the "[App Name] Help" menu, which is useless. "{App Name} Help" doesn't need a key binding; the user is going to have to switch to the mouse to navigate the help window anyway. (And the average user who's consulting in-app help probably doesn't know how to use keyboard shortcuts to start with.)
The fact that Cmd-Shift-/ is still bound to "Show Help menu" in Keyboard.prefPane makes me think this is an unintentional mistake on Apple's part.
Apple, please get rid of the "[App Name] Help" keybinding (or put it on another key) so Cmd-Shift-/ works again!
Please, no responses saying to bind "Show Help menu" to another key. I and users like me are habituated to Cmd-Shift-/.
