iCloud for Window (7.2.1 - application download) OR iCloud for Windows App (from the Microsoft Store)

There seem to be 2 different methods of getting Apple iCloud on a PC and syncing with Office 365 - a "normal" downloadable 64-bit version that is like other programs and then the "app version" from the Microsoft store - what's the difference and is one better than the other? I'm running Windows 11 - so the App will work for me.
