Won't let me reinstall Monterey

Am using a 2017 IMac (27") 3.8 Ghz i5 with 16GB DDR4

running Monterey 12.7.4

Tried to do a reinstall using recovery mode (cmd R)

It tells me I can't do it and gives me this message

"com.apple.buildinfo.preflighterror.error21

I looked up error 21 and it does not help me.

Any suggestions?

Reinstalling MacOS Sierra Errors I received an old company computer that they were getting rid of for free. IT person said it had been running Monterey but they had to wipe the HD for corporate reasons. I'm trying to get a fresh install of the OS on, but I'm encountering issues. I've tried fixing the drive, I've reformatted the HD to the preferred format, And I continue to get an error while installing the OS. Please Help. Thanks in advance!

Can't install Monterey on MBP Mid 2015 Hi, My mac was working fine but because i tend to install a lot of stuff i decided to reinstall the OS, to have it clean and fresh, but instead im getting this error 21. If i boot into normal mode i still get my computer up and running I've run the disk error tool and it doesn't say the disk is faulty. any tips or ideas? thanks [Edited by Moderator]

Hi,

I think your internal HDD recovery partition is corrupting, you should run FirstAid on internal drive and reformat HDD in APFS with DiskUtility.

Then try to reinstall macOS on the internal drive which could solve your issue.
