Apple TV App Updates

Why doesn’t the Apple TV have an update process like the iPhone? Apple TV requires you go to the Apps screen and scroll down to the Top 200 Apps. Then, you have to click on each one to see if there is an update. All manual. Some apps update in background. Most require this manual process. Please advise.

If you have Automatically Update Apps turned on, then that would apply to all apps. It would happen in the background; possibly more efficiently when the box is on but idle (not streaming anything) for some time, e.g. just the screen saver on.

- Apps can get updated at the release schedule that the app developer sets (“anytime”).

- Recently updated apps that haven’t been opened since the update, would get a blue dot on the Home Screen.

- App updates may have minimum system requirements for the tvOS version, so keep tvOS up-to-date as well (v17.4 as of now).
