Sonoma 14.4.1: file deleted but still visible in Finder

I use Sonoma 14.4.1 (23E224) on a Mac Studio 2022.

Of late, deleting files in Finder has been behaving strangely. The files get deleted in the filesystem: I know because they are no longer present when I do `ls -l` at the command line. However, their icons remain in the Finder: Get Info shows no entries under "Sharing & Permissions"; and trying to open them has no effect.

The only way I have found to get rid of the icons is to relaunch the Finder (opt-cmd-esc).

I suspect a recent upgrade of macOS, but I couldn't say definitely when it started happening.

Is this just a bug that will disappear when Apple gets round to fixing it? Or is it something on my machine?
