Hello,

I understand that you’re experiencing difficulties connecting your iPhone XR to Wi-Fi. Let’s troubleshoot this issue together. Here are some steps you can try:

Check Wi-Fi Settings:

    • Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.
    • Tap Wi-Fi.
    • Next to the Wi-Fi network name, tap the Info button (it looks like a lowercase ‘i’ in a circle).
    • Ensure that the Auto-Join switch is turned on. If it’s off, turn it on.

Forget and Reconnect:

  • Sometimes, when switching networks, Wi-Fi doesn’t immediately connect. Try forgetting the network and reconnecting:
      • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
      • Tap the network you’re having trouble with.
      • Tap Forget This Network.
  • Reconnect to the network and reassign your IP address from the DHCP pool.

Secure Wi-Fi Configuration:

  • Consider adjusting your router’s Wi-Fi settings:
      • Change your router’s Wi-Fi to use WPA2-AES (CCMP) without WPA or TKIP.
      • Updating this setting ensures that your devices always connect using the most secure encryption mode.
  • If your router doesn’t specify TKIP or AES, the WPA2 option likely uses AES.

Reset All Settings (Last Resort):

    • Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
    • This action resets all personalized features back to factory defaults, including notifications, brightness, and clock settings.
    • It won’t impact your personal data like photos, texts, or documents.

Privacy Settings:

  • Toggle off Location Services:
    • Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and turn it off.
  • Some users find that disabling System Services’ Wi-Fi Networking solves connectivity issues:
    • Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services and toggle off Wi-Fi Networking.

Restart Your iPhone:

  • If a normal restart doesn’t help, perform a forced restart:
    • Hold down the Volume Down and Side (or Power) buttons simultaneously for at least ten seconds until the Apple logo appears.

Remember to reconfigure any personalized settings once your iPhone restarts. If these steps don’t resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Apple support for further assistance.

Take care,
