Was Safari message about data leak on Pinterest and joann.com legitimate

In the past few days, when I went on Safari, a box popped up on the home page of Safari warning of a "data leak" on my Pinterest and joann.com accounts. Was this legitimate?

It depends. Apple posts notifications from accounts that were leaked by other parties. See, Password Monitoring - Apple Support If that's the notice, it is legit. Keep in mind that you'll want to navigate to the sites to change your information.
