Is there a way to see multiple tabs or windows opened in Safari?

Is there a way to see multiple tabs or windows opened in Safari, Chrome or another browser separately in the cmd + tab drop-down menu?

Alt+Tab is an app that lets you replace cmd+tab. It has a lot of features, but the most notable to me is that it includes all windows of an app. So if I have a workflow which incudes an excel sheet, some web app, and another excel sheet - I just use cmd+tab to switch between them. I don’t need to juggle cmd+tab and cmd+tilde.

i have no expectation of anything I write here mattering to Apple. I simply came upon this thread and wanted to provide context as one of the comments seemed to be asking about how this works on windows.

Sometimes I end up in the wrong app because I forgot about one. But, an image wouldn't help me as I don't look. I just type the shortcut. If I need to look at all the apps to choose from, I four-finger swipe up. It doesn't require any thinking at all. Muscle memory takes over.
The problem is that it's a bit of an annoying concession to have to abandon the idea of using tabs to accomplish this.

Tabs have little value to me except to hide things I want to keep open for use days later.

There is no reason for me to have tabbed Finder windows. I need for the windows I'm using to be open. When done, I close them.

Its even more annoying because Finder does exactly what's being asked. I use Alt+TAB myself to expose all windows to CMD+TAB. Finder tabs can be CMD+Tab'd as if they were different windows, which is the perfect scenario because it lets you use a tabbed interace to make the desktop cleaner without losing the convenience of cmd+tab. Terminal does the same, and I'm guessing a lot of others apps do.

I have no idea what Alt+TAB is. I don't have an Alt key.

Ctrl-` will cycle through tabs in most apps.

I did find out you can cycle through all apps from Appsposé (Show Application Windows). While active, Tab or ` will cycle through all the apps. I don't know if it is tied to Desktops.

However, all of this is irrelevant. If you need such features, sed feedback to Apple. All we can offer is ways to do something similar. If it isn't suitable to the way you want to work, send feedback to Apple. None of us here can do anything about it.

Don't see a cmd + tab drop-down menu? Not sure I get it.

Command Tab for the HUD (Heads Up Display) shows launched applications running?

You can click and hold an icon in the Dock to see multiple Windows, and select

alternatively:

On a Mac, for Safari, use Control Tab to move to the next displayed tab

or Shift Control Tab to move to the previous one

Sorry I do not know Windows. You can follow the links above and see if there is something similar in macOS.
To give context - in Windows, Edge browser integrates with the system level application switcher and adds 3 or 4 (can't remember the exact number, but last I used windows it was only a subset and not all tabs) of the most recently used browser tabs into the switcher.

Don't use Tabs and open Show All Application windows in Mission Control. You can set a gesuture for it (3- or 4-finger swipe down).

This was a huge benefit to people who work with a lot of web apps because it meant they could more seamlessly switch from localApp -> web app -> other web app -> other localApp. It really reduces the cognitive overhead of working with multiple types of apps because you don't need think about it. If you're doing a task that makes you frequently switch between 4 distinct applications, you don't need to think about and modify your keyboard shortcuts.

Cmd-tab should go to the last used apps in order.

You only have to think "I need to go back to the app I was just using" or "back 2 apps" or 3 apps.

Cmd-tab; cmd-tab, tab; cmd-tab, tab, tab.
