Epson ET-2811 printing meaningless text from MacBook Air 22 since update to Sonoma 14.2.1

I used to be able to print ok, but now it only prints weird text - looks like programming language (/lmargin 72 def, /tprint {dup length cp add margin ... etc etc

I have updated the printer software and firmware and also the drivers for my Mac, but no joy

Any thoughts anyone?
