Pressure Sensitivity Will Not Work With Apple Pencil 1st Gen on my iPad 6th Gen

I broke my previous Apple Pencil ( I dont know specific generation ) for my iPad 6th generation ( iPadOS 17.3.1 ) and bought a new Apple pencil ( 1st generation ), It connects to the iPad just fine ( Pairing, writing and all that works ). Problem is, I can't seem to turn on pressure sensitivity and so the pencil won't respond to pressure or tilt. All advice on the internet says to go to Settings > Stylus etc. Issue here is that my ipad doesn't seem to have a Stylus setting. It does have Settings > Apple Pencil, but this section only has the following. "Only draw with Apple Pencil", "Scribble", "Pencil gesture> Left corner swipe and Right corner swipe". There is no option to turn on Pressure sensitivity and Tilt etc. ( Context: the Old Apple pencil which I broke had pressure sensitivity and it did work just fine and react to my tilt and pressure, so it can't be an issue with the apps )

iPad, iPadOS 17
