All touch control not working. Followed reset procedure to no avail. New air pods. No indication touch control ever worked. How do I proceed?

AirPods Pro touch commands not working My new AirPod Pros do not recognize any touch commands at all. They connect and pair properly, and the noise cancelling features work, but tapping does nothing (skipping tracks, answering or ending calls, etc.) I did all the updates available, but now I’m wondering if I made a mistake on the initial set up or something. The reset procedure found elsewhere here does not fix the issue. Is there something else I can do, such as a factory reset?

Brand new airpods pro (2nd gen) touch controls don't work and have never worked, right out of box brand new. Question is in the title. My touch controls don't work. These airpods were delivered yesterday. At first I thought I just got suckered into buying the worst product ever, then realized that I'm actually supposed to be able to play/pause/skip etc. Any advice? I already reset the airpods. Maybe I need these replaced.

IF they're new and this function never worked I would return to the store where you've bought them to have them looked after if I where you
