Finder on my iMac running macOS Monterey won't recognise iPhone.

I have a 2015 IMAC running MONTGOMERY OS. I have an IPhone 13 running version 17.4.1. On my MAC FINDER, I cant see the hard drive or the iphone on the sidebar. I ca.n see the harddrive on the right side of the screen, but I can't see the iPhone

I have tried everything I know or, or have read, to see my iphone. I can see my iPhone when I go into PHOTOS. when I try to sync in PHOTOS, I get an error that says it can't find my IPhotos folder and wont sync. If I make a change to an existing contact on the MAC, that change works on the IPhone. But if I create a new contact on the MAC, it doesn't show up on the IPhone. Help.
