Ventura 13.6.6 update failed iMac won't complete boot sequence

I applied the latest Ventura update to my iMac (2017 iMac Retina 5K 32GB RAM/ 2TB SSD) this morning and it will not complete the boot sequence.

I have reinstalled the OS twice and am waiting for the 2nd one to finish...may be hung again.

It completed the first time, but I made the mistake (apparently) of looking at my Time Machine because it wouldn't allow me to do a restore. Nothing more current than September was accessible, even though the external disk has been attached and the schedule is set to automatic. After I opened Time Machine to see where my more current backups were it hard locked the machine until I did a hard reset.

Back to the Recovery Mode, ran First Aid on the disc to be check for issues there. (2TB SSD, less than 2 years old). All good with the Disk Utility so I am running the 2nd OS re-install.

I have noticed other issues with 13.6.6 online, but wanted to see if anyone in here is experiencing what I am?

Given the complexity of the situation and the potential impact on your system, it may be best to reach out to Official Apple Support directly for assistance. They can provide personalized support and may be able to offer specific troubleshooting steps or guidance tailored to your situation.

Additionally, if you have access to another Mac or a trusted technician, you could try booting your iMac into Target Disk Mode and accessing the internal drive from another Mac to see if you can retrieve any important data or perform further diagnostics.
