How to remove messages from iCloud storage

Hello my icloud storage is full and it’s mostly messages. I did the whole “disable & delete” and the 30 days have finally passed. Yet I still have 4.3 GB of messages in iCloud. I thought after the 30 days they would be all gone? I also have a Mac where I also turned off “Messages in iCloud”. Please tell me what I am doing wrong!!

How to free up iCloud Message storage? I'm trying to free up space in my Icloud, and post of my storage seems to be taken up by messages, 27.7 GB to be exact. I've followed all the recommended instructions like setting my messages to delete after 30 days, I've deleted conversations and attachments, and this only reduced the number of messages in my Icloud down by around 400. It now says I have 69,729 messages in my cloud and I have no idea where they're coming from. I need a way to delete these thousands of magic invisible messages so that I don’t have to keep paying for more storage as a broke university student. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Disable and Delete iCloud Messages - After 30 days I'm doing the disable and delete messages from iCloud to clean out some old messages that refused to delete and kept showing back up. At what point are they actually deleted after the 30 days? Currently, I see the below and it says "in 0 days, the messages stored in iCloud will be deleted", today is day 32. Will that change when it's done? I don't want to turn sync back on too soon and have to start over. Just as reference, I have iCloud Messages disabled on ALL devices (iPad, Mac, and iPhone) and did it the same day.
