Times are tight and i cant afford to purchase a dupe file finder right now. Anyone know of a free trustworthy duplicate file finder for Mac? My Mac needs a good cleaning.

Cleaning apps for your Mac are not nessecary and will do nothing, only slow down your Mac
You're much better off using Apple's built-in utilities, such as Optimize storage space on your Mac - Apple Support and Free up storage space on your Mac - Apple Support.
You may be interested in knowing exact duplicates of files require zero additional storage space on APFS formatted volumes (which your M1 MacBook Air uses). Rather than assuming your Mac needs "cleaning" (which no Macs require) perhaps you should explain the underlying problem that has led you to that assumption.
