Macbook Air Charging Issues: Cable Intermittent, Port Failure, and Strange Notifications

Hey folks,

I'm encountering some perplexing issues with my Macbook's charging setup and could really use some help troubleshooting. Here's the rundown:

Intermittent Charging: My charging cable has been on its last legs for the past few years, with the rubber casing wearing off. Today, it started giving on-and-off signals, resulting in intermittent charging.

Port Failure: I typically use the upper USB-C port for charging, but suddenly it stopped working altogether. Only the lower port seems to be functioning now.

Strange Notifications: After applying some tape to salvage the cable, I've managed to restore partial functionality. However, there's a bizarre issue where my Macbook indicates that the adapter is connected (when it's not), yet it also displays a "battery not charging" message.

Any insights or advice on how to tackle these issues would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.
