Stolen phone support

My phone has been stolen a month ago and I just received this message today. I was wondering how true it is and if I need to remove my phone or not. I currently have my phone on lost mode.

Nope. They were able to send you that message because you gave them your phone number. Of course any thief is going to try and scare you into removing your phone from Find My because currently they are unable to use it. The only way they will be able to use your phone is if you remove it. Don't do it.
