Status bar persists over full screen apps (iPhone SE 2nd Gen)

The status bar on my iPhone SE (2nd Gen) persists over full screen apps, often covering up important information. I've been trying to find a solution to this for a while, but the only help topics I can find about the status bar are things like it disappearing or moving, but nothing about it persisting.

This drives me nuts, and I swear there was a time it didn't do this. How do I get it to stop this? Help!

On my iPhone XS Max, when I touched the status bar icons I loved how they would popup enlarged below (ie if I touch the time I get a bigger time in the middle of the screen). I can't find where to set this again on my phone following a failed backup. Did the Good Idea Fairy trash that for 16.4, or can it still help me? Thank you.

Additional home screens disappearing randomly In iOS 18, for no apparent reason my additional home screens keep disappearing. I have 3 pages of apps, and sometimes when I swipe right to access those additional pages it only goes to the library of apps. No additional screens are there. If I tough and hold screen to go into layout mode and swipe right there’s just an empty screen as if all the apps have been deleted. Then randomly later on the screens will reappear. The only way I have found to get them back instantly is to restart the phone. But there must be a bug in iOS 18 that’s causing this to happen randomly as I am not doing anything to cause it.

Disappearing app screen Ever since the update my two of my screens with apps are disappearing. I'm not sure how to stop this from happening as it's there one day and gone the next.
