Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

My HomePod has had several issues since I purchased it

The quality is fine, it's the interface I have trouble with. I've called Apple tech support dozens of times. They finally offered me some earbuds as compenation. I appreciate the offer as well as Apple's efforts to stay in touch with its customers, but I'd never have bought this product if I knew how inconsistant it was. I ask it to play something, it doesn't. I ask it to switch from regular speaker to the homepods, it can't connect. And then, out of the blue in the middle of the night without any intervention or action on my part (I was asleep) it played rock and roll at a thunderous volume. The only thing I could do was unplug it. I've done everything I can to make these things work. The only thing that works is to return them to Apple or give them away. I just want ordinary speakers that plug in and play automatically.
