my apple maps is taking too long to know my location and begin

I load my home address or any location in the Apple Maps and it will load the options for directions even offering three different options so generally knows from located, it must, but when I hit go, nothing happens for about 5 to 6 minutes before it responds, knowing my location and correct the course but up until that point it doesn’t even show my car moving. Yes 5 to 6 minutes on average, sometimes longer. So confused. I anticipate I won’t get many responses to this because I was really struggling over how to word the question. There’s so many words I use and I probably didn’t properly explain the issue in the way I wrote the question - but I’m hoping somebody sees this and has some ideas.
