Hi you clever clogs; pulling my hair out as each time I take a photo, then transfer them onto PC, each photo is dulpicated into a MOV file. Changed formats to Most Comptable , unchecked Apple ProRaw, unchecked Live Photo.
Any ideas very welcome

Live Photos export as two files: jpeg and mov. If you've turned off Live, then future pictures will export as jpeg (or HEIC, depending on settings). But your previous pictures will still be Live, so how they export won't change. If you don't like the movie file on your PC, it can be deleted there.
