Leaving the computer plugged in will not damage the computer or the battery. Leaving it plugged in will reduce the rate of accumulation of battery cycles.

No. Not 100% of the time. If there were a power spur or power spike then that may cause an issue with failure. So, lug it into a surge protector. The Mac way overheat. There are all sorts of report on there forums of Mac issues. So, I just charge it when I am using it, and while at home. I unplug the charger when there is vicious weather outside.
