iPad: removing camera access from lock screen

Is there a way to remove the camera from my Lock Screen on the iPad?

The lack of control of things like this on Apple devices is astounding to me. There’s hundreds of options yet any time I want to change a simple thing like this I have to search the internet for half an hour just to conclude that there’s no way to do it.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 15

2. Scroll down and tap on "Face ID & Passcode" or "Touch ID & Passcode," depending on your iPad model and settings.
3. Enter your passcode if prompted.
4. Scroll down to the "Allow Access When Locked" section.
5. Toggle off the switch next to "Camera" to disable camera access from the Lock Screen.

By disabling camera access from the Lock Screen, the camera icon should no longer appear, and you won't be able to access the camera without unlocking your iPad first.

This is completely wrong.

As mentioned by others, the earlier AI-generated information is incorrect/misleading - posted without any understanding or knowledge of iPad and iPadOS.

Presumably you simply wish to inhibit unlocking your iPad using FaceID - but wish to continue using FaceID for other functions.

This can be easily achieved from iPad settings:

Settings > FaceID & Passcode > [Use FaceID For] Unlock iPad - set to OFF
