Mail on MacBook froze during a search,

MacOS is getting pretty ordinary, like windows 10 years ago.

It's 2024 for and a core app like Mail is freezing !?

And Windows friendly attachments is not the default!

Not user friendly anymore.

When Mail freezes during a search, it can be caused by various factors such as corrupted mailbox data, excessive search indexing, or conflicts with other software or plugins. One step you can take is to force quit the Mail app by pressing Command + Option + Escape, then relaunch it to see if that resolves the freezing issue.

If the problem persists, you may want to try rebuilding your mailbox in Mail. To do this, select the problematic mailbox in Mail's sidebar, then go to the Mailbox menu and choose Rebuild. This will reindex and refresh the mailbox, which may resolve any underlying issues causing the freezing.

Regarding attachments, it's worth noting that macOS typically handles attachments in a way that's compatible with both macOS and Windows users. However, if you're encountering issues with attachments not being Windows-friendly by default, you can try changing the default attachment format in Mail preferences. Go to Mail > Preferences > Composing, then adjust the "Message format" settings to ensure compatibility with Windows users.

If you continue to encounter issues with Mail freezing or attachment compatibility despite trying these steps, it may be helpful to reach out to Official Apple Support for further assistance. They can provide more personalized support and guidance based on your specific situation and may be able to offer additional troubleshooting steps or solutions to address the issues you're experiencing.
