Anything with 16GB+ RAM.

8GB models are OK for basic python coding, but some IDEs (Integrated Development Environments) can be ram hungry, and some formal courses often requiring setting up standardized virtual machines.

I have had no issues using a MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM for any of my development needs.

I do a lot of embedded processor design with large code libraries with no issue. I have even built an embedded Linux for a microprocessor from makefiles without any issue and no throttling.

So, unless you are going to develop the next greatest full featured alternative to Photoshop, Microsoft Office, etc., an 8 GB machine will do just fine.

I heard you mention C# programming. Be aware that Microsoft has discontinued Visual Studio for Mac (as well as any .NET support). So, you will need to find a design environment that supports C# on Mac.

Python on the other hand should not be a problem as there are several Python IDEs available for Mac.
