Restoring unsynced pages file

I have been working on a long college paper on pages for weeks. I was never able to sync the file to icloud for whatever reason but i was regularly saving the changes i made so i assumed that my work was being saved on my mac at least. And indeed every time i opened the file the changes were being saved. I opened the file today to make the final changes and to finally submit it. All the changes were gone and i was back to square one. Tens of pages i thought were safe disappeared. Please help i am going insane!

This is where you fall back on your Time Machine backup and a version of this document on a date before it was vaporized. Also, what does Pages File menu : Revert To > Browse All Versions offer you from past dates of this opened document?

You can also use Spotlight to search for Pages documents in a couple of ways:

By modified, or creation date and prior(<), after(>), or between(-) dates. Use modified or created where appropriate.
