iPad Pro HDMI stopped working for no reason

Hello,

I have and M1 iPad Pro 12.9 and the iPadOS version 17.4.1.

I plugged my USB c hub, which was perfectly recognized, and every port worked: HDMI, USB c, USB a, ethernet.

Had been using it for a while, all connections plugged, perfectly functional, sending video to my monitor, when I had to download almost 2 Gigs. The internet speed is slow where I have the monitor and setup, so I unplugged the UBC hub to get my iPad close to the wifi router, downloaded the data fast and came back to resume my work.

When I came back, I plugged the hub again. I hadn’t touch the ports, only unplugged the usb c connection between the hub and the iPad.

This time, everything but the HDMI worked. It is only the HDMI what doesn’t work.

I have tried it all. One by one unplug-plug, restarting the iPad, restarting it with the hub connected, restarting it with the hub connected and the HDMI connected… Nothing works.

The HDMI is the one I use in my Windows computer, for the GPU, and works fine.

Also tried unplugging both ends in the monitor, powering it off… Same no-display results.

Any help is highly appreciated,

Thank you.

Begin with a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

If the problem persists after performing the restart, it may be necessary to reset your iPad settings. While this reset will not cause any loss of data, as a precaution, it is always wise to ensure that you have a current iCloud or iTunes backup before performing the reset:

When you are happy to proceed, you can perform the reset from iPad settings:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset All Settings

If the problem still doesn’t clear, the next step is to reset the iPad to factory settings:
