SOS while setting up my new 14 Pro Max

While setting up my new phone, it was charged to about 50% or was that SOS? I went through the manual process until it timed out trying to transfer data over from my old phone. I plugged it in to charge it and it never charged. Upon close inspection it was actually saying SOS. Does a new phone not like my carrier: Xfinity/Comcast mobile? I’m stuck. Any ideas?
