magic keyboard--one key not working

A magic keyboard I've used for years with a Mac mini suddenly developed a glitch: one key does not work. The others are fine. An attempt at gently cleaning around the edge of the key produced no results.

Replaced it with another, similarly aged, magic keyboard, and all is well.

Is there a way to clean under the key?
