Try and force restart the iPhone to see if the issue persists

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

If the issue persists there is a chance that your Face ID is disabled, most of the times this is caused due to a problem with the TrueDepth camera. Please update your iPhone to the latest avaliable software version and if this is not working, please Contact - Official Apple Support to get further hardware assistance
