Is there a way to recover search history on the I pad? My elderly mum uses her search history on safari to go back and find things. She recently deleted it by mistake. Is there a way of recovering this please?

Regrettably, once deleted, you'll not be able to recover this data.
Cached Safari data and associated history are not included within device backups - or saved elsewhere. Much of this data is "temporary". In addition to manual deletion, temporary data can be automatically cleared at any time.
If you need to maintain easy access to specific web pages, you would be best advised to save individual page URLs to Safari Bookmarks or Favourites.
Would this be the web browser search history (specifically Safari), or something else?
