Gen2 Apple Pencil not working after updating

I have a 12.9 IPad Pro and I never have any issues out of it. I also have a Gen 2 Apple Pencil that I’ve never dropped or damaged and I have never had issues until after the newest update on my IPad.

I have tried resetting, hard rebooting nothing works. I am sure it’s something very simple I just don’t know what it could be. I use my IPad and pencil for work and it’s made me see that I am very dependent on it. It is very difficult to present information without it. Any advise would be very appreciated.

I forgot to mention the warranty ended 2 weeks before it stopped working.
