keychain password blocking my attempts to use google.docs

I have an 9 or 10 year old Mac operating well on OS Monterey 12:3:1. I am a retired old geezer and a light user of my Mac. I have been using Pages for word processing. But I cant get it to cooperate sharing docs with android systems. So I ask people to cut and paste. A nuisance. Someone recommended using google docs. I downloaded the app to my ipad. But I cant get it going on my Mac. Keep getting the process blocked by a pop up request for my keychain password. What the **** is that? And how do I get past it?
