Refund request Apple Pay

Merchant charged me wrong amount in POS (Apple Pay transaction)

we then proceeded by doing a refund through the POS which we used Apple Pay again for that transaction. POS accepted and receipt of refund was printed as well.

However I have not received anything through my phone about it. In the history of my Apple Pay transactions it doesn’t appear.

Question is, was I supposed to get a notification about the refund? If yes, does it take time? Or will I just wait for the amount to appear in my bank statement? Because I haven’t received anything back either.

It takes time. It appears that the refund went to the bank of your credit card since you did get the receipt. Now once the credit card posts the refund, you will see it on your Wallet. It is typical for charges to show up immediately from a credit/debit card even if they show Pending for a day or two, but refunds never show as Pending and will appear when it does get posted by the credit card company. If it has not appeared after 5-7 days, I would contact the credit card company.
