How to fix the categories in the iOS App Library?

I used to have a Finance & Productivity category in the App Library, at some point this got split into one Finance and one Productivity category. But now I have additionally the Finance & Productivity category back. This is so confusing.

App Library categories close on iOS 26.3 I recently updated to iOS 26.3. Before the update (when on iOS 26.2/earlier), when I launched an app from the App Library, the folder/category it was in would stay open (i.e., if I opened the "Finance" category, then my bank app, if I swiped off the bank app and back to the App Library, the "Finance" category would still be open). Now, the behavior is different. Returning to the App Library takes me back to all categories being closed. Is there a way to return to the previous behavior (that I have become quite accustomed to)?

App Library Categories We need to be able to change the categories are apps are placed in. Currently, the only workaround is to drag the app to a new page along with others you want in the same category and name it. This takes up more memory and duplicates the apps. Please Apple give us the ability to make this change. Thank you.

Is there a way to add an extra sub-categories in the App Library? I have a iPhone 5 pro and noticed that the app library category then now doesn’t contain a shopping category. Is there a way you can add extra sub categories in the library? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

You have no control over the categories in the App Library, but you can create your own groupings on any other page of the Home screen. The categories in the App Library are based on what the app developer said its category was.
