Reset AirTag and removed from my account. It now says “connected to another account” but it’s STILL my appleID and won’t let me set up

Hello! I recently removed my AirTag from my AppleID to set it up again. It now starts the set up, says “this AirTag is linked to your account” and on the next screen says “this AirTag is linked to someone else’s AppleID, but shows my AppleID, the current one I’m signed into and using. Now it can’t be set up at all. Suggestions?
