Sure, you can charge your MacBook with an iPhone adapter but it will take a long, long, long, long, longgggg time do so. The iPhone adapter doesn’t put out enough current to charge a MacBook quickly. You can also charge your MacBook while you work but your battery will continue to discharge because, again, the iPhone charger can’t keep up with the current needs of the MacBook.

As lkrupp wrote it will work (barely), but all you need to use your correct MacBook power adapter is an inexpensive plug adapter.

All Apple power adapters have the same voltage requirements.
