I keep getting the message that no backup in 45 days.
I tried going to Time Machine but everything is empty. Not sure what I am supposed to do. I did buy a new macbook air about 2 months ago.

Apple's Time Machine requires that your Mac back up to an external drive. That drive can be directly attached to your Mac or it can be on your local network.
Otherwise it will attempt to back up to your Mac's internal drive ... but those backups will be deleted within 24 hrs.
