Sticky notes in Numbers

This used to be possible in Numbers using the Comments functionality as this video shows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_6MSPA1ig8.

Unfortunately, this functionality has evolved and, now, comments are associated to a particular cell: Add and print comments in Numbers on Mac - Apple Support.

Comments are associated with particular cells and (fortunately) have been that way for many years.

Text Boxes (via the Tool Bar or Insert > Text Box in the menu) can be placed on top of the other objects on a sheet. Perhaps that is what you want.

What was the solution you found? Just click on the canvas (instead of in a cell) and insert a Comment?

I'm guessing what you're talking about is the Stickies app. It's a separate application from Numbers. You can find it in your Applications folder.

Yep. Click on the canvas and insert a comment. I had never tried that before. This is a new one for me.
