Upgraded our 1080 apple TV to 4k apple TV and everything in 4k streaming is dark, dark, dark. Is there an update coming to fix this issue, does anyone have a solution, or should I return the apple 4k TV box and wait until Apple comes out with a fixed or functional model?
Have you tried (as a test) setting the Apple TV video settings to SDR instead of HDR (+ Match Dynamic Range off)? HDR is supposed to work of course, but … in the current setup, does this change make a difference for darkness?
It seems to me that the dark video playback relates to some HDR mismatch between devices, but I haven’t seen described on this forum what goes wrong exactly.
What is the model TV?
It's a 4k Samsung Qled 75 inch, not sure about the model, changing from HDR to SDR did improve the brightness of the 4k streaming and I even replaced the HDMI with the newer ones that are supposed to support the high data needed, but after switching back the HDR from sdr the 4k streaming shows went dark again
