TARGET DISPLAY MODE on 2017 iMac 27"

Is target display mode still not possible? I love this monitor, and I don't want to give up on it, when I get a new Mac in near future. The studio display is unnecessarily expensive and it is Mac dedicated... For instance, you can't play PS5 etc with it...

Just looking for someone that already found a solution?

iMac 27″ 5K, macOS 13.6

Nope, it's been dead for many years. Please carefully read Target Display Mode and you will see. If you need an external display, please buy one. They are:

Less expensive than Target Display Mode in that they don't require expensive cabling.
Start at less than $100.
Far easier to setup than Target Display Mode ever was.
Far more reliable than Target Display Mode ever was.
