Apple tv family sharing not syncing

My entire family of 4 has family sharing activated, my dad, purchases all the shows and movies on his account and normally, on the apple tv's we just use his account, but when I try to watch a show called modern family on my phone, it tells me to purchase it even though I know my dad has already purchased it. I am logged in and can access family sharing and access the show through there, the thing is, when I start playing an episode, It shows up in up next and I can play it, but when I finish the episode, it tells me to play the next ones on hulu. Purchases used to share through the store aswell and now they do not. I am very confused and it very frustrating. Not to mention how bad the apple tv system is in general. You would expect more from multi-trillion dollar company.
