Lock Screen Actually Locking

I need a phone whose screen is entirely unrsponsive after I press the lock button.

Not only do I live an active lifestyle but I am also clumsy. Not only have accidentally called 911 from a Lock Screen, but I have burned food from accidentally pausing timers.

Most seriously though, since I can accidentally pull up the Enter Passcode screen while in my pocket, incorrect passcodes repeatedly get entered until I start getting locked out of my phone. I don’t mean to be hyperbolic here, I almost got stranded on another continent because of this happening while at a rave by myself.

Is there anything I can do to make it so my phone actually locks when I lock it. I have been using iPhones for over a decade but this has become such an issue for me, I am ready to get a Samsung or something.
