Why is the red light on my Beats Studio 3 always on and turning on/off by itself?

i was working out using my beats studio 3 and suddenly they disconnected from my phone and when i took them out because i thought they were off a red light was on and i thought it was the battery but it wasn’t they had 46% now the beats have the red light on all the time and they turn on and off by themselves. Help
