HomePod mini volume problem

When I ask my HomePod mini to play Apple Music it responds with Apple Music now playing. There is no volume. The home app shows music playing but the volume control is grayed out. Asking the minis to turn the volume up also has no effect. I tried hooking up the mini to my computer and reseting, but the problem continues. . If I ask a question it responds with the answer. My other pair of minis work fine
