Combining lookup with if and isblank formula

Hi

I usually work in excel but switched to numbers and cant figure out how I should create my formula.

I have a row(C) with some empty cells. If the cell is empty I want to lookup in row (A) a specific substring " x " and if true I want to fill the empty cell with "custom string".

How do I do this?
