Verification texts not delivered to mac

When I sign on to one of my accounts that sends out a verification text, I receive it on my phone and iPad, but not my Mac. How do I fix this?

MacBook Air (M3, 2024)

They should appear, as long as you have SMS Text Message Forwarding enabled: Forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to other devices - Apple Support
