I was added to a group chat randomly. Do I need to be concerned?

As of maybe 10 minutes ago I was added to a group chat with four other completely random numbers I didn't recognize. I opened it and the message that had originally read "How are you guys doing these days?" was deleted. I immediately left the group and deleted the chat but I'm a bit shaken up and I'm afraid it could have been a hack. If you haven't realized already, I'm a very nervous person and I'm very happy these forums exist. I'm worried it may have been a hack, since the message was deleted and I have never seen these numbers, not to mention it was all the same area code and I'm afraid my life may be at risk. It could have been an error but I'm still scared even though I left without a word. Help.
